After a personal pick-up from the Marseilles port, we will drive to Aix-en-Provence, city of Paul Cezanne to enjoy a charming walk along ‘Cours Mirabeau’ – the richest Provence Avenue where you will be charmed by fountains, private hotels, small cafés, and the old churches. We will then discover an authentic Provencal market (best visited in the morning when one can taste the fresh local foods and drinks and while enjoying the local atmosphere). After the visit to the market, we will depart to the village of Cassis which is east to Marseilles and famous for it’s cliffs and ‘Calanques’. Enjoy the sights and take photos during your free time given here to explore on your own. Weather permitting, we will drive along the fantastic ‘Crested Roa’ (one of Europe’s nicest roads) to the famous cliff ‘Cap Canaille’, which is located 400 meters above sea level and offers astonishing views of the Mediterranean sea. No visit to Marseilles is complete without touring the ‘Notre Dame de la Garde Basilica’ which dominates the Provence Capital’s skyline. Here you will get free time to enjoy the breath-taking 360 degrees panoramic views. Lastly, we cross the Corniche, and subject to docking times of the ship, we will tour the old port and take photos of the famous ‘MUCEM’ Museum. We will bring you back to port with plenty of time before departure.
